The Beast of the Earth is an apocalyptic monster that is spoken through Revelation.
Description[]
Unlike the first Beast which will rise out of the sea, the second Beast comes out of the earth whose overall appearance is not described, other than having "two horns like a lamb", and speaking "like a dragon". The Beast of the Earth is also said to be ultimate form of the Antichrist.
Overview[]
The Beast from the earth, called in later visions "the false prophet", is in no way a rival or a competitor of the beast from the sea, but on the contrary is strictly subordinate to the first beast. Its mission is not to exalt itself or to demand worship for itself, but solely to make sure that the earth's inhabitants worship the first beast.
It achieves this by possessing the ability to perform great signs, even making fire come down out of Heaven. Because of the many powers the creature exhibits along with its influential but poisonous words, the second beast is also called the false prophet. He speaks like a dragon commanding the people of the Earth to make an image "to" the beast that was wounded by a sword.
It is declared that anyone who does not worship the beast or its image would be killed. The lamb-horned beast from the earth also causes all people to receive the "Mark of the Beast" in their right hand or in their forehead. The two beasts along with the Dragon are arguably the ultimate final antagonists of the faithful and the holy, alongside the Antichrist himself. It is even heavily debated the the second beast is the early incarnation of the Antichrist, before assuming the shape and form of one who is clothed like the Holy but speaks like the demonic.
